The First Visit
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry suggests
that a child have his or her first visit by their first birthday,
or when the first tooth comes in - usually between six and twelve
months of age. Early examination and preventive care will protect
your child’s smile now and in the future.
Making your child comfortable in a dental setting
is very important for the first visit. Our office is specifically
designed to create a unique, comfortable environment for children.
We avoid using words that might cause unnecessary fear or anxiety
such as: "hurt", "needle" or "shot."
We suggest that the parents also participate in describing these
sometimes necessary procedures in non-threatening manner.
During the initial visit, Dr. Miller and his team
will explain all procedures and answer any questions that you or
your child may have. We welcome parents to stay with the child during
all appointments.
